“Food, Money, Shelter: NYC Resources”, 2016 & 2017

Description of the booklet:
Under the auspices of the Women’s Center for Education and Career Advancement (WCECA), I conceived, researched the benefit information, wrote the text, solicited artwork for, and compiled  a booklet, Food, Money, Shelter: NYC Resources.   It consists of 12 short information sheets on various NYC benefits, and 12 pictures, one illustrating each of these information sheets. The booklet is 81/2” X 11” folded in half  – the information sheet on one side, the artwork on the other. During 2016 and 2017, three thousand of these were distributed, free, in food pantries, on the subway, on the streets, & to non-profit agencies and NYC legislators.  Funding for printing came from the Seedtime Fund and from various organizations that distributed it to their constituents.

Photos of the cover, the table of contents, and several page spreads are displayed below. Artists for these samples: Jessica Gervacio-cover, Irina Rodnikoff-Food Stamps, Judith Rubenstein-Food Pantries and Soup Kitchens, Meghan Keane-Public Assistance, Shayna Denburg-Housing.  More art and text in the actual booklet.
