Holland Cotter, New York Times art critic, wrote once that current political art may not change power immediately, but shows how it works, i.e., acts as a witness.  A great deal of my artwork does exactly that, bears witness to the sad street scenes caused by society’s powers-that-be.

It is important to me that my presentations of this reality be accessible to many. I therefore emphasize screen, relief, and lithographic prints on paper, which can be produced in multiple, and priced moderately. And, I involve community members in making art, thus my several performance art pieces and collaborative books. (See these under the Community Art tab on this website).

The materials that compose the one-of-a-kind collages and sculptural work that also appear in my exhibits and on this website are, in that same vein, cheap and rough – paper, cardboard, papier-mâché, old fabric. They have been created with pencil, scissors, glue and a copying machine
